Vagina Monologues

The "Vagina Monologues" is all the buzz as the show makes its way to Sacramento with star Lisa Ling from "The View." Join us as host Bette Vasquez talks with two of the actresses featured in the Sacramento performance: Monica Lowe, who is a radio host for The Zone, and daughter of Diana Ross, Rhonda Ross.

The 90-minute show has grown from an off-Broadway hit into a cultural phenomenon, drawing women together and inspiring performances by college students and stars.

Rhonda Ross (performer in the U.S. Tour 2) has been called one of People's 10 Most Fascinating Television Stars. She is best known for her Emmy-nominated role as Toni Burrell on the NBC soap opera, "Another World." She starred in "Bessie Coleman: A Dream to Fly" on Showtime, the NBC Movie of the Week, "The Temptations," as well as the feature film, Personals, and has had guest roles on such notable sitcoms as "Cosby" and "Girlfriends." On stage, she appeared in Little Red Wagon Painted Blue, Letters to Grammie, and Stuffed Children at New York's Public Theater. A graduate, with honors, of Brown University, Rhonda is also an acclaimed jazz vocalist/composer who has performed all around the world and in New York City at The Blue Note, Fat Tuesday's Birdland, and Iridium. She lives with her husband, pianist/composer Rodney Kendrick, in New York.

Glynis Bell (Performer - US Tour 2) has appeared on Broadway as Teresa Saleri in Amadeus, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, The Robber Bridegroom, Heartbreak House and You Never Can Tell. Her Off-Broadway credits include Richard III and Blithe Spirit at the Pearl Theatre, Pera Palas for the Lark Theatre, and Light Up The Sky for the Roundabout, among others. She was a member of John Houseman’s acclaimed acting company and spent three years at the Folger Theatre being intimate with the Bard. Among her favorite roles in regional theatre are Cavid/Kathy in Pera Palas, Agnes in A Delicate Balance, Boo in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf, and Ouisa in Six Degrees of Separation. She has appeared on “Law & Order” and its offshoots, variously as a mother, a judge, a lawyer and a gynecologist.
