David Corbett
David Corbett, author of "The Devil's Redhead," a masterfully
written novel that combines a gripping crime story with a poignant
tale of enduring love joins Bette in our studio to talk about
his book and offers viewers a sneak peak on the storyline of his
second novel.
David Corbett grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he attended Ohio
State University, where he won a poetry prize, earned Phi Beta
Kappa honors his junior and senior years, and graduated cum laude
with a degree in mathematics. In 1983, he joined a private investigation
firm in San Francisco. During that time, he worked on a number
of high-profile criminal and civil litigations. In 1995, he eased
out of private investigation work to open a small law practice
with his wife. David continues to reside in northern California.
"The Devil's Redhead" was his first novel.
He is currently at work on a second novel for Ballantine, with
the working title "Done for a Dime." It concerns the
murder of an aging blues musician in one of the transitional,
once solidly blue-collar communities that rim the San Francisco
Bay. It is currently scheduled for release in 2003.
