Tom Sullivan

You've heard the voice. You've seen the face. Now meet the man. We interview Sacramento's financial guru, Tom Sullivan.

This Seattle native has had a life that has not always involved finances and markets. His father worked in a candy factory and his mother a secretary and this modest blue-collar family lived in an intercity neighborhood, something Tom had vowed to change.

He started off working as an ambulance driver while in college and then traded in his books to join our nation's army. After being injured Tom returned to Seattle where friends of his told him about a program that would help put him through college. Thus, Tom Sullivan began his stint as a highway patrolman.

Eventually Tom joined an accounting firm and moved to San Francisco and ultimately east to Sacramento where he started doing business reports on the radio for KFBK. His start in television came when he appeared on KVIE's "Help It's Tax Time" in the 1980s.

After KVIE Tom went to KCRA to do morning business reports as well as continuing his business reports for KFBK radio. While working downtown at his own financial company called The Sullivan Group Tom does 15 radio reports, and 5 television updates from the confines of his office. But once the clock hits noon he heads over to KFBK studios to do a 3-hour talk show. After his busy 12-hour day Tom finally is able to go home to his lovely wife and newly adopted baby girl or relish in his favorite hobby and pastime, flying his own plane.

His career highlights are many and include introducing George W. Bush on his visit's to Sacramento and standing in for long time best friend and pal Rush Limbaugh on his national talk show out of Los Angeles.

But no matter where he is or what he is doing, Tom Sullivan is finding his home is in Sacramento.
