Jackson Barber Gino Ricci

He's 5'1", Italian and 80 years young but he's also the best barber in all of Jackson. Gino Ricci has been cutting hair for the past 62 years and sees no signs of turning in his clipping shears.

Inspired by his father who was a barber since the early 1900's, the Ricci family have been Jackson residents all their lives, as you can see from the photos and memorabilia in the Gino Ricci Barber shop. Gino has seen this small town go from mining madness to a tourist's hot spot.

His customers however, are mostly locals who have been coming to Gino's shop for over 20 years. They never need to say a word either they just come in, sit in the chair and for $9.00 Gino will give them a trim and send them on their way.

A quick and feisty character, Gino is considered a feature in Jackson. Cutting only men's hair, Gino learned long ago from his father that cutting women's hair could be a dangerous business. He also works alone, enjoying the luxury of being his own boss and setting his own hours.

Happily married for 47 years, Gino shuts down at lunchtime every day on the dot to spend his lunch break with his wife. Gino loves his profession and says "I'll cut anything that grows!" and he plans to continue, "Until I get it right."
