ChimpanZoo
Chimpanzees
have been prime attractions at zoos for nearly a century. But it's
only been since 1984 that zookeepers and scientists have made a
concerted effort to monitor their health and well being in captivity.
Established in part by the Jane Goodall Institute, the ChimpanZoo
program tracks, compiles, and disseminates research data gathered
by students, volunteers, and zoo administrators at member zoo facilities.
For this story, we'll take you behind the scenes
to find out how the program is helping six chimpanzees at the
Sacramento Zoo live happier, healthier lives.

Goodall Institute online at www.janegoodall.org.
