"The Space" is a giant warehouse in downtown Sacramento taken over by Abandon Productions, a one of a kind theatre company run and created by Doniel Soto.

Wanting to incorporate his sports background with his love of theater Doniel created what he coined "physical theatre".
He recruited a group of performers who were willing to put their talents… and their bodies to the test.

To prepare for a show Doniel leads the men and women through an intense… and unusual workout… four days a week.
It's a grueling routine no one seems to mind.

A chorus of vocal training follows the physical training.
The music reflects the original work this group is so proud of… and that audiences seem to enjoy.

Intimacy is a big part of the experience at "the space"
With no heating, in cooler months, audiences get cozy. They sometimes bring a friend and bundle up with blankets handed out at the door.

And this cool environment is creating some of the hottest theatre in town.
