Boot Camp Workout

If you're thinking that you need
expensive weights and fancy
exercise equipment to get in shape, think again. Join Jennifer Fischer as she enrolls in a day of Boot Camp Basic Training and discovers how each workout resembles a training mission. Meet Senior Drill Instructor Rodney Carson, who created this workout, patterned right after the United States Marine Corps boot camp
program.

Carson teaches his "recruits" how to combat the enemy (in this case, fat) with "land attacks" such as push-ups and sit-ups, and "air attacks" like jogging and jumping jacks. If getting into shape isn't motivation enough, students receive awards each time they complete three months of training. Workouts are three nights a week at the Mather Sports Center and
include lunges, squats, circuit training and a mini optical course. In addition to providing a challenging workout, Carson gives pointers on maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.
