Bette
Vasquez, Host | Television
viewers in the greater Sacramento area have enjoyed watching
Bette as an anchor at KCRA Channel 3, covering entertainment
and the weather. She has produced and directed several primetime
specials including Celebrity for KCRA and Women on the Move
for KOVR Channel 13. At KOVR Bette became the first female weather
reporter in the region and was a general news assignment reporter.
She also produced and was co-host of Progresso, a popular Spanish
magazine program featuring contemporary people and issues of
interest to the Hispanic community. For radio KRAK-FM Bette
hosted Mexican-American Profiles, an interview style program
featuring notable Mexican Americans in our community. Also fluent
in Spanish, Bette does voice-overs and narration and is a popular
speaker at community events. She has won many awards including
the statewide Latino Eagle Award for outstanding Latin media
and a California resolution honoring her dedicated community
service.
Jennifer
Fischer, Producer/Reporter | Jennifer
has been with Central Valley Chronicles for more than two years
and has covered a wide range of topics from on the road travel
stories and people profiles, to historical sites and recreational
sports. She has co-hosted "Holiday Latin Traditions"
and "Latina Health Care," which were co-productions
of KVIE and Univision. She is a producer on the "New Valley"
series, and has moderated two town hall events for the program.
She was also a reporter for KVIE's "California Capitol
Week," during its fifth season of broadcast. Jennifer won
a Telly Bronze award in 2002 for producing a story on "Delta
Towns & People." Prior
to coming to KVIE, Jennifer was a reporter and website producer
for the NBC-affiliate in Palm Springs and conducted live field
reports for three newscasts daily. Previously, Jennifer served
as a field producer for KNBC, Los Angeles. Before appearing
on television she worked for the PBS-affiliate retail chain
"Store of Knowledge" as publicity and promotions manager
and was an assistant account executive at the public relations
firm Hill & Knowlton. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts in
Communications from California State University, Northridge.
Michelle
Monier-Kilgore, Producer | Michelle
began working on Central Valley Chronicles in summer of 2000.
Since then, her work on the program has been recognized with
two "Bronze" Telly awards. One award for a Special
Arts Edition of Central Valley Chronicles featuring the Mondavi
Center in Davis, and the other for a story on a man who has
spent most of his life building a giant metal Dragon. Before
coming to KVIE, Michelle worked in local news. She was the main
producer at the Fox affiliate in Seattle, where she helped to
successfully launch the stations newscast. Previous, she was
a producer at the CBS affiliate in Sacramento. She has produced
and field produced local and national election shows. Michelle
graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara with a B.A. in English.
Pamela
Turse, Producer | Pamela has been
with KVIE Channel 6 since July of 1999. She is a communications
graduate from Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. Born and raised
in New Jersey, Pamela discovered KVIE in 1997 when she was hired
as an intern to work on the Telly Award-winning documentary,
"Stockton The Good Old Days."
Since her arrival, Pamela has worked on numerous KVIE Productions
such as the local documentary, "Bittersweet Roots: The
Chinese in California's Heartland," and the "New Valley"
series, but she devotes much of her time to producing the Venture
Out segment for Central Valley Chronicles. Just recently, she
was awarded a Silver Telly Award for a profile piece on an inspiring
Central Valley man. She enjoys working on stories that involve
sports, outdoor activities, or just plain quirky people. She
has combined her love of sports and television by working with
ARCO Arena and the Sacramento River Cats. Prior to KVIE, she
directed the news at her campus station, edited two NCAA commercials
for Madison Square Garden Network as well as promotional videos
for her college.
Richard
Enos, Chief Videographer | Richard
has always loved cameras. He shot his first short film at the
age of 11 with his father's super-8 film camera. But, it was
in college that Richard set his course in television. He earned
his degree in Media Communications from California State University
Sacramento, where he spent 3 years as the head studio operator
for University Media Services.
Richard began his career shooting
commercials and corporate video projects. He came to KVIE Television
in 1995, and is currently the Chief- Videographer for the Emmy
Award winning "Off Limits" series, "Central Valley
Chronicles," and "Discover California" - KVIE's
first wide screen digital program. Richard's documentary credits
include "Uncommon Courage," which earned an Edward
R. Murrow award for large-market documentary and "Hope
on the Street" for KQED in San Francisco. His work has
appeared nationally on PBS, ESPN, and TNT. He has received two
Emmy nominations and 10Telly Awards including two Silver Tellys
- their top honor.
Richard is also an accomplished sports videographer.
Since 1995 he has been a camera operator for the Sacramento
Kings where he gets to combine two of his loves - cameras and
basketball.
